It gets around, that we have a new product soon.
As from our previous HiLOW coil overs known, we cannot be satisfied with 1: 1 replicas.
Also by the air suspension was the first priority to create something very special again.
The first prototype has been running for some time, namely in E-Golf VII of Reinhard Rode. www.werk-2.net
The Golf V / VI assembly is in progress; the first batch of series production runs!
Information from the LOWTEC "workshop":
Air suspension
Our Requirements:
1. Maximum lowering; every millimeter is sought and worked out!
2. Optimal functionality; Tightness; Multiple adjustability
3. Availability / Compatibility with existing HiLOW System
4. Opinion of the component and vehicle testing
Task 1 - top mount
Conventional solutions are not effective; new dome bearing constructions are required
Problem:
- Leakages by tilting the damper piston rod when turning
- This also restricted freedom of movement at the transition to camber plates
- Original camber plates are often too weak, vulnerable, or the use is not possible
- Top mount ball-bearings are "stiff", cause noise and need, as well as the original top mount, too much height.
Solution:
- Aluminum camber plates with minimized rubber mount accepts the motion compensation of the damper piston rod
- Minimal height with optimized axial bearings
- In the upper bellows adapter ring integrated active movable seal, takes lateral piston rod movements completely -> optimum sealing and mobility!
Advantage:
- Maximum lowering realized
- Free movement of the strut also at full turn
- Tightness of the bellows-damper system
More soon!
Many thanks to Mario Pressel Photography for the great pictures and Reinhard Rode of Werk 2 Automotive GmbH for their support!
