Special Aluminium Strut Bearing

The LOWTEC aluminum strut bearings are constructed so that maximum lowering can be achieved through minimal construction height. Contrary to other products with problematic and noisy pillow ball-bearings, the LOWTEC aluminum strut bearing kit will damp the piston rod by a special rubber bearing. So fully mobility of the strut at each steering angle is given. An optimized axial bearing and the upper spring cup is included.

The standard version retains the OE camber, while the 0.5° version results a fixed negative camber.

This strut bearings are suitable for all LOWTEC coilovers and coilovers of other manufacturers with upper springs with an outer diameter of max. 85 mm and a piston pin with the dimension M14 x ca. 40 mm length . Adjustment are optionally available upon request.

Compared to the original strut bearing a greater lowering usually is achieved. The ground clearance, wheel clearance, headlight height, etc. must be re-examined. The setting measures of the coilover described in the original parts certificate are no longer valid and has to be adjusted accordingly. Corrected settings for the LOWTEC coilovers are given with the included LOWTEC manufacturer expertise.

The cylindrical rubbers are put on the piston rod. Depending on the quantity and height, different spring travel limitations result.

PUR

These PUR bump stops are to be used instead of the original limiters and are put on the piston rod.

The height of the bump stop gives the corresponding stroke limitation of the shock absorber. Thus, the immersion of the vehicle is limited. The tire-body contact can be prevented. Intact original damping elements (where necessary shortened to the extent of the lowering) or rubber bump stops are basically required for each shock absorber.

The types with of STREET damper & spring force are by far the most popular. You can also choose between the more comfortable DYNAMIC and the stronger RACE versions (pls. see: Suspension Hardness in Comparison).

The HiLOW Kit includes one pin wrench and one hook wrench, the kits H9.3/R and H9.4 are additional including a protection spray.

All types with threaded coils front and rear (execptions pls. see the notes).

Please check, if spacers are required or possible because of the enlarged diameter of the strut (ca. 15 mm space additionally required).
